Some of the ways to be involved and kept up to date were:
Consultation included, 'visioning' and scenario building exercises, discussion forums, 'clinics' with staff, public workshops and a questionnaire. This review will take the new plan out until approximately 2020. A plan that reflects community aspirations saves time and money in the long term. WorkshopsThe first phase of consultation on the district plan review identified a number of key issues for Great Barrier Island that needed to be addressed in the new plan. A workshop was held to identify the possible approaches and outcomes that could be used to address those key issues.
