A meeting was held in September 2005 to select members of the Waiheke community and local experts to attend a series of 3 focus group meetings on 4 topics as part of the review of the HGI plan. The intent of these meetings was to allow members of the focus groups to provide further input into how the district plan should deal with the following broad issues. The topics are listed below. For the brief set by each group, click on the session 1 link under each topic. Each group requested that council officers and relevant experts investigate further a number of issues and report back at session 2. After the information was reported back, each group developed a set of directions for the Hauraki Gulf Islands District Plan Working Party to consider as part of the review. The directions are identified below under each topic.
